Online Counselling Sessions
* I conduct online and phone sessions Monday to Friday *
Your privacy is paramount and so I offer secure online sessions using Doxy, Zoom and Skype sessions; as well as Facetime and phone sessions.
--------------
I have always conducted some of my counselling sessions online with clients who have found it a convenient or necessary means (remote location or while travelling).
--------------
Is online counselling as effective and engaging as in person meetings? In a word, yes.
As a counsellor, I am very comfortable meeting clients electronically.
I have taken the time to take additional training on conducting online sessions and I have use resources provided to me by the CCPA on the subject. In addition, I have received clinical supervision around how to ensure I conduct online sessions safely and effectively. I use a telemedicine platform called Doxy, which is HIPPA compliant – this means it meets a high standard of privacy and security through encryption. Doxy does not require that you download an App – you simply click on the link that I email to you, click on it and enter my virtual waiting room.
In addition to your computer, you can use your phone, iPad or other device to connect with me via Doxy as well. It is a very seamless process.
I am however, willing to use Zoom, Skype, FaceTime or even just speak on the phone, although these methods do not offer the same level of guaranteed privacy and security as Doxy.
I have received very positive feedback from clients I see electronically.
If you are thinking of either starting or continuing counselling during this time of physical distancing, I would encourage you to go ahead and try online counselling.
It doesn’t have to stand in the way of you accessing the help and support you need.
“Remember the entrance door to the sanctuary is inside you.”
